StoryWalk® at the Museum

March 16, 2021 @ 8:00 am April 30, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

We are excited to announce the launch of StoryWalk® at the Museum. StoryWalk® is a fun way for families to read together while enjoying the museum gardens. Starting March 16, our StoryWalk® will feature The Word Collector by Peter H. Reynolds, a story about finding your own words and sharing them with the world. The Word Collector is a great read for children ages 4-8, but all ages will enjoy the brightly colored illustrations and heartwarming story.

When you arrive at the museum you will find pages of the featured book installed along the brick paths. The story will begin at the Old Well and end near the corner of N. Main Street and E. Juniper Street. After finishing the StoryWalk® we encourage visitors to sign our virtual guest book by scanning the QR code on the final page.

The StoryWalk® will take about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace. Make the most out of your visit by stopping inside the museum to see our exhibits before you leave. You can also bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic during your visit or try out bird watching from one of our garden benches. A StoryWalk® is also a great opportunity to enjoy the museum with your pets! Leashed dogs are welcome, but please help keep the grounds clean by using our doggy waste stations.

The Word Collector will be featured through April 30. We also encourage visitors to check-out the StoryWalk® on display at E. Carroll Joyner Park through March.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
