We’re celebrating Historic Preservation Month with a series of free webinars on Wake Forest History.
On Tuesday, May 11, join us for a discussion with Ed Morris, Executive Director of the Wake Forest Historical Museum, and homeowners from the Wake Forest Historic District. Panelists will talk about some of the biggest challenges and greatest rewards of owning a historic home in Wake Forest.
You can also join us on Tuesday, May 25 join us for an introduction to the Northeast Community’s Story Map with Michelle Michael, Senior Planner (Historic Preservation) and Chris Robey, Masters of Landscape Architecture Candidate at the University of Georgia.
Both programs are free and open to the public, but registration is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Another fantastic way to honor preservation month and learn more about Wake Forest’s rich history is to take a self-guided Walking Tour. The Town has two self-guided Walking Tours:
Tours are accessible through the Town App, website, and physical brochures are available at the Museum and Town Hall.
The Town is also hosting a historic preservation-themed scavenger hunt. All participants who upload all ten photos of the correct historic features will be entered into a drawing for a $20 gift card to Lumpy’s Ice Cream. Learn more.
