On September 1, 2010, Executive Director Ed Morris spent the day getting all the smaller items moved from the Calvin Jones House and into the new annex. Cathy Morris reviewed box contents, recording items, and coordinating a newly updated museum filing system so we can remember where everything is… a tough job when you see just how many records and artifacts the Birthplace Society has collected over the years.
We’ve just acquired this exciting set of plates featuring old campus buildings. It’s a set produced by Wedgwood in the mid-twentieth century before the college moved to Winston-Salem… making this particular china exceedingly rare. Although the museum has had a set of these in red for many years, this is the first time we’ve seen them in blue. It’s an amazing addition to our collection.
